Tumbleweed’s user-friendly Can-O-Worms lets everyone participate in recycling

One of Australia’s most popular ways to reduce a household’s carbon footprint is the Can-O-Worms from Tumbleweed, an odourless, user-friendly worm farm beautifully and simply designed to allow anyone to participate in recycling.

Especially good as a fun way to educate children about respect for the environment. The Can-O-Worms employs nature’s foremost recyclers, composting worms, to gobble their way through organic household waste. These wriggly saviours of groundwater and the ozone layer eat up to half their weight in organic waste each day and repay their owners with rich organic fertiliser for indoor plants and outdoor gardens.

“True environmental concern of a practical kind really does start in the home,” says Tumbleweed General Sales Manager Chris Quoyle. “Everyone is amazed when you tell them how much of an impact there is on ground water and the ozone layer from the millions of tones of organic household waste that is just dumped with our mixed garbage. Instead of being a friend of the planet, which food waste can be, it becomes an enemy, polluting ground water and producing harmful gases when mixed in landfill,” says Mr Quoyle.

“Can-O-Worms is perfect for an apartment, backyard, school or office, convert your food scraps into organic fertiliser for your indoor plants and garden or share with your neighbours.”

Tumbleweed’s Can-O-Worms makes harvesting of castings (worm poo) easy because the worms eat their way up leaving their rich castings behind which are readily removed. Liquid fertiliser is also produced and dispensed through a tap.

The Can-O-Worms is fly and pest-proof and stands on five sturdy legs. It is fun and educational exercise the whole family can participate in. It is made here in Australia by an Australian company from 100% recycled plastic.
